Dear Hiring Manager,
I am writing to express my interest in opportunities with your ASL interpreting agency. I will
complete my A.A. degree programs in both ASL-Deaf Studies and the ASL Interpreter Training
Program in June 2026 from College of the Canyons and am eager to continue developing my
skills in professional interpreting environments. Through my role as Departmental TA in the ASL
program, I assist Deaf and Hard of Hearing professors with interpreting and voicing lecture
material, facilitating classroom communication, and supporting students during classroom
activities and tutoring sessions. These experiences have strengthened my communication
skills, adaptability, professionalism, and ability to work effectively in fast paced environments.
In addition to my interpreting related experience, I currently work as a Special Circumstances
Instructional Aide with the William S. Hart Union School District, where I support students with
moderate to severe special needs in academic, behavioral, and life skills development. This
position has further developed my patience, teamwork, and ability to respond thoughtfully to a
wide range of communication needs. My previous professional experience in highly regulated
environments also strengthened my attention to detail, confidentiality, and ability to remain
composed under pressure.
I am highly motivated to continue growing as an interpreter and would welcome the
opportunity to contribute to your agency while learning from experienced professionals in the
field. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss
how my background and skills may benefit your team.
Sincerely,
Brittney Nikiel
